Social & Critical Infrastructure

Social infrastructure encompasses the facilities, systems, and services that support our quality of life and wellbeing. These assets are essential for communities to function, thrive, and remain resilient.

Security risks to social infrastructure can significantly impact public safety, disrupt service continuity, and undermine community stability. SCG provides a comprehensive suite of security, communications and risk services tailored to the needs of owners and operators across this critical sector, including:

  • Health and medical research services: hospitals, mental health facilities, research institutes and critical pharmaceutical production
  • Banking and financial services
  • Educational and research institutes: universities, schools, research institutions and training centres
  • Civic and cultural institutions:  public places, stadiums, recreation centres, cultural centres and museums
  • Industry and resources: natural resources, mining, and manufacturing

The Australian Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 was introduced to enhance the security and resilience of infrastructure that is vital for national security and economic stability.

The legislation requires owners and operators of Critical Infrastructure, such as electricity, gas, water, ports and telecommunications, to identify risks and vulnerabilities in their systems, report certain incidents and breaches, implement risk management programs and share information important to the protection of Australia’s critical assets.

We assist owners and operators of Critical Infrastructure to assess new and emerging threats then develop, review, assess and implement:

  • their risk and projective security strategies
  • engineering and design solutions for protecting critical infrastructure
  • robust security and governance frameworks to help protect critical assets
