EST09110 Benalla Munitions Facility – ICT Infrastructure Upgrade
Downer Defence was the prime contractor for infrastructure upgrades at the Benalla Munitions Facility. In early 2022, Downer Defence commissioned SCG to conduct an audit and risk assessment of the existing ICT infrastructure onsite.
Following the completion of the audit and risk assessment, SCG was engaged to undertake the design and documentation for the upgrade of the ICT infrastructure to address the identified non-compliances with Australian and Defence cabling standards and to address requirements for the segregation of Defence ICT network cabling from the Thales and NOIA tenant network cabling.
The scope of the ICT design services included Master Planning and full documentation for replacement of the existing ICT infrastructure, including:
- New site-wide fibre optic cable network
- New modular communications rooms
- An all new Defence Engineering Services network
- Master planning documentation for future facility tenants
- Extended existing ICT inground services pit and pipe infrastructure to service new and existing ICT communications node locations
