Casuarina Prison expansion projects: 512-bed & 344-bed stage one
SCG delivered security advisory services to the WA Department of Justice for a 512-bed expansion of WA’s maximum-security male prison, and for security and communications design for a subsequent 344-bed expansion and health precinct at the site.
The project works included construction of additional accommodation units and supporting buildings across a range of classifications (minimum, medium and maximum) and health facilities. The works were focussed on prisoner wellbeing, including design for those with health and mental health concerns, and those who are elderly or require a high level of direct support.
We were subsequently engaged to provide full security and communication design services for a further 344-bed expansion as part of stage one inside the wire expansion, and a security upgrade of the master control room and sitewide security systems.
