SCG was engaged by the Department of Finance to conduct security risk awareness workshops to increase staff awareness of individual and collective responsibilities.

The learning outcome of the workshops included understanding of:
- How threat sources may target information through cultivation of a staff member
- The Australian Government Contact Reporting Scheme
- How to classify, mark, transfer and dispose of agency information
- The Protective Security Policy Framework zone requirements for the handling/storage/discussion of classified information
- The container storage requirements for different levels of classified information
- The requirements to protect classified/sensitive discussions
Workshop evaluation demonstrated an increase in participant awareness of threats to government information as well as how the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework contributes to protection of information.
