Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre
SCG was engaged by the Government of Queensland’s Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) to act as the State’s adviser for the design and delivery of the electronic security and communications services for stage two of the Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct, near Gatton.

This $861 million project included construction of a new 1536-bed correctional centre to accommodate male prisoners and was the first new prison to be built in Queensland since 2012.
The design and operation of the new facility adopted a therapeutic approach, with a focus on mental health and substance use rehabilitation in a modern, purpose-built facility.
SCG was appointed by DHPW as State Advisor to oversee the briefing, design, commissioning and post-completion stages for all electronic security and communications systems.
