Sydney Metro

On project completion, Sydney will have 31 metro stations and 66km of new metro rail, enabling a train in either direction every two minutes and increasing the number of trains entering the CBD from 120 to 200 an hour – a 60 per cent capacity increase across the network.  

SCG was integrated into the EDS partnership as part of the overall security team providing advisory services across the security threat and risk, assurance and design engineering spectrum. Our scope of work included:  

  • Lead integration of physical security requirements into Sydney Metro West   
  • Lead the threat vulnerability risk assessment, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design reports, security management plans and other physical security advice  
  • Coordinate security requirements throughout the design process  
  • Lead security assurance activities, including security hazard logs, tracing evidence against requirements, developing security assurance plans and reports, and other evidence for the security case development process.   
  • Liaise with Sydney Metro security team in the preparation and delivery of security engineering advice, including apprising them of key security issues and implementing their security requirements through iterative feedback and review.
