Western Sydney International Airport – ABF Cargo Screening Facility

Building on our existing engagement on the broader Western Sydney International Airport, this project involved development of a new Border Agency Cargo Examination Facility, requiring detailed coordination with key government stakeholders, including Australian Border Force, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and Australian Federal Police. SCG’s role included preparation of physical security construction guidelines, development of SCEC zoning documentation, draft security layouts, and high-level schematics aligned with Defence and federal agency requirements.

SCG’s involvement went beyond design delivery – we actively engaged with project stakeholders to confirm specific security requirements and ensure they were integrated within the broader site-wide security framework. We also coordinated with Western Sydney International Airport’s appointed network architects to ensure seamless connectivity between the facility’s systems and airport-wide infrastructure.

As Australia’s largest specialist security consultancy, SCG brought a uniquely capable team of licensed Class 2A Security and SCEC consultants to the project. Our deep experience in complex federal and transport infrastructure enabled us to navigate layered stakeholder needs and apply a risk-based, outcomes-focused approach to deliver robust, compliant and scalable security solutions.

This work showcased SCG’s capability to deliver on large, high-security infrastructure in collaboration with Tier 1 contractors and federal agencies – continuing our commitment to securing critical national infrastructure with certainty, confidence and precision.
