Woodford Correctional Centre

SCG was engaged for full design, documentation, and construction administration services to upgrade the intercom system within the budget constraints of the approved funding.

Stage 1 of the intercom system upgrade included replacement of the oldest intercom door and cell slaves and the installation of a contemporary IP-based intercom system head-end to create a hybrid solution that could be upgraded in stages in future.  The budget constraints meant that existing cabling needed to be reused, but this was generally found to be in relatively good condition.

Stage 2 of the project involves the replacement of door and cell intercom slaves that were installed in 1999 with IP-based intercom slaves as well as replacing the intercom cabling to support IP communications.
