Brendan Bilston

Chair, Australian Capital Territory

Brendan Bilston is the Non-Executive Chair of the Security Consulting Group (SCG) Board.

A distinguished graduate of UNSW ADFA and the Royal Military College Duntroon, Brendan began his career in the Australian Army as a Civil Engineer with the Royal Australian Engineers Corps. In 2004, he transitioned to the private sector, co-founding Point Project Management, later acquired by the RPS Group and more recently founding Conscia, a firm dedicated to innovation and strategic advisory.

Brendan has led the planning and delivery of numerous high-value, complex infrastructure projects, including Defence communications networks and major government accommodation initiatives. His expertise spans strategic development, project governance, and executive advisory roles, underpinned by a strong foundation in engineering and project management.

He holds a Master of Engineering Science (Project Management) from UNSW and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). With over three decades of leadership experience across Defence, government, aviation, and commercial sectors, Brendan brings deep strategic insight and governance capability to his role as Chair.

Brendan has served on multiple company boards and has been recognised with several industry accolades, including the Telstra Business Awards, Project Director of the Year, and multiple Project of the Year awards from the Australian Institute of Project Management. His advisory work with organisations such as Lockheed Martin Australia, the Reserve Bank of Australia, and the Australian Signals Directorate reflects his trusted reputation in infrastructure, Defence and consulting.

He holds active high-level security clearances and maintains memberships across various professional associations.

Outside of work, Brendan is married to Jackie and is a proud father to Lily and Jordan, both of whom are involved in industrial design. He is a keen sports enthusiast with interests in AFL (Geelong Cats), NFL (Dallas Cowboys), and golf.
