Nikitha Kurian

Security Consultant, Victoria

Nikitha is a Security Consultant with a strong foundation in criminology and a growing specialisation in both physical and cyber security. Her interest in the field began early, through undergraduate studies in criminology and an internship with the City of Casey’s Crime Prevention Department, where she worked directly with community stakeholders to assess vulnerabilities in public spaces and recommend preventative measures. That experience cemented her passion for security as a means of giving back to the community. Since then, Nikitha has built her career in consulting, working on CCTV and access control design projects and now focusing more deeply on risk assessments, with a focus on helping organisations understand their vulnerabilities and guiding them towards effective, tailored security solutions. Currently undertaking a Master of Cybersecurity, she is passionate about continuous learning and is developing a holistic perspective that bridges physical and digital security domains.

Beyond her technical work, Nikitha thrives on stakeholder engagement and the critical, creative problem-solving that each unique project demands. Bringing a background in customer service, retail and administration, Nikitha is a confident communicator who thrives in both team-based and independent environments. She is particularly interested in defence projects, drawing on her background as an Australian Air Force Cadet, and in community-focused initiatives where she can contribute to greater safety and awareness. Outside of SCG, she is an active member of Australian Women in Security and the ASIS Melbourne Chapter, while also keeping up with her love of sport through basketball and badminton. For Nikitha, the true reward of her work comes not only from seeing her technical solutions deployed in the real world, but also from transforming how organisations understand security, shifting their mindset toward awareness, accountability and informed decision-making.
