As recovery from the worst flooding it’s seen for years continues, a small ray of light for Brisbane – security risk and resilience specialist Spencer Wakelam has started as Senior Risk Consultant at SCG.
We appreciate that his ‘resilience’ has certainly been put to the test by starting a new position at this unusual time and welcome him to our growing QLD team.
Spencer has a background as an Intelligence and Security Operator in the British Army and spent eight years as a UK police officer, before transitioning to the corporate sector and security management roles in the nuclear and financial industries.
Since moving to Australia in 2012, he has focussed on the transport and critical infrastructure sectors.
Spencer has worked across three continents and was the first directly appointed Security Manager for the world-record-breaking Qatar Integrated Rail Project. He has been published in the Australian Risk Policy Institute Journal, Risk Management Today, and Australian Bulk Handling Review, and was awarded Best In-House Security Director at the 2019 ASIAL OSPA Awards.
